Keeping a list, checking it twice

Here is a list of controversial decisions made by Nova Scotia Environment:

Asbestos Dump in a watershed
Herbicides for the forest industry
Abandoning clearcut limits
Tire burning
Gold mining
Gravel quarry expansion
Gas storage

and

The ever present Northern Pulp Mill

The situation cries out for an Environmental Bill of Rights - legislation that would protect the right to clean air, water, and soil, and give Nova Scotians a say in decision-making about what happens in their own communities.
